Yes, it is true. I have been away from simming for a while. Why? A combination of things but mainly that my old Windows machine has gotten so slow and so "long in the tooth" as the Brits like to say, that using the simulator was beginning to be a drag. Since I have not been able to scrape up the coins to build a new machine I have gravitated towards using my Mac and my Linux machine for other projects I am involved with.
Recently Scott Gridly built a new machine to use for the simulator and he has gotten some good results from it. I hope to build a new machine soon and will use the forums to spec it out. I am going to the forums after typing this quick note to see if there is discussion there on this topic. Also, if anyone has any favorite configurations please feel free to add your comments and participate in the forums. We can all benefit from the vast knowledge of our thousands of users. Ok, this is a kind of lame post but I wanted to bump this Blog slowly back to life.
